TRAILBLAZER 101

IT'S TIME TO STEP OFF THE PATH YOU'VE BEEN ON AND START A NEW ADVENTURE

To be a Trailblazer means to make a new path, rather than following already established paths. A Trailblazer looks at her life differently than other people. She challenges her past way of thinking, makes her own rules, trusts herself, and intentionally chooses actions that help her get what she wants and be who she wants to be.

As I've walked my own path, I've learned many things about what it means to create an authentic life. I compiled what I learned into my three-part Trailblazer Process so that you can start living your daring life.

FIND YOUR BEARINGS

Before you start creating a new path, you need to pause and understand what got you to where you are now.
It can be hard to change when you don't know where the problem really is. Trying solutions before you understand will cause frustration and take more time because the solutions are not getting to the root of the problem.
To do this, you must take a deeper look at how you're viewing your past, your values and beliefs, and the expectations that are holding you back from living the life you want.

FOLLOW YOUR INNER COMPASS

Once you know what got you to where you are now, you can start deciding where you want to go. It's hard to know what the best path is for you when you don't have anything to guide you.
Cue your Inner Compass.
Your Inner Compass is the older, wiser part of you that existed before you lived here. It encourages growth and lifelong learning and focuses on the bigger picture–what you can achieve and become, rather than just survival. Your daring life will come from recognizing, trusting, and following this part of you.

CLEAR YOUR PATH

Once you've done the work to Find Your Bearings and Follow Your Inner Compass you are ready to do the work of taking action and clearing your path. Society in general focuses on this step, taking action, but action is not helpful if it's not taking you to where you want to go. Once you do the inner work, you can trust that the actions are actually helping you create the life that you want to live.
This step is important though. It can be easy to get stuck in the inner work of reading, thinking, and pondering, but nothing will change until you take action.
